Co-production Consultancy

What is co-production?

Co-production is an involvement approach, where people with both lived and learnt experience of a product, topic, issue or condition work in equal partnership to achieve a shared goal.

Used across sectors, co-production values an individual’s knowledge and experience as an asset that can enhance:

  • Service design & delivery.

  • Product innovation & development.

  • Brand loyalty & advocacy.

My offer:

Using my extensive involvement expertise, I will provide co-production consultancy tailored to meet the unique needs of your business:

  • Working with you to understand what you are hoping to achieve and identify whether co-production is the right involvement approach for you.

  • Supporting you to develop your involvement plan, ensuring people with lived experience are involved from the start of your project.

  • Creating the promotional materials to secure participation in your project.

  • Facilitating co-production sessions, either in-person or online, creating a safe space for all participants to meaningfully contribute.

  • Providing resources and information in a format appropriate to your audience.

  • Collecting feedback to check that the co-production process feels collaborative, accessible and meaningful.

  • Recording actionable points in an agreed format, to illustrate progress, manage expectations and inform the final project outcome.

Easy Read Translation

What is easy read information?

A form of communication that combines short, jargon free sentences, supporting images, and clear language to make information easier to understand than regular communication formats.

Who uses easy read information?

Lots of people! Easy read information increases independent access to your information, products and services by anyone that finds complex text difficult to process. This includes individuals with a learning disability, cognitive conditions, variable reading abilities, or English as a second language.

Should I translate my information into easy read?

That's up to you. Translating your information into easy read is one way to increase your outreach, demonstrate your commitment to inclusivity and meet your legal responsibility under Section 20 (6) of the Equality Act 2020, to ensure information is provided in an accessible format.

There are other ways of doing this, and it is important to choose the right accessible format for your target audience.  Have a look at the UK Association for Accessible Formats to explore some of the different formats available, and who benefits from them.

My offer:

Working with you or your lived experience partners, I will:

  • Make sure that easy read is the right accessible format for your audience.

  • Simplify and summarise your text, and seek confirmation that I have captured the key messages.

  • Use Photsymbols® software to create an easy-read version of your text, incorporating your organisational branding.

  • Provide you with a final document within the agreed deadline, in a print-format of your choice.

About Me

Expertise

I bring experience from the voluntary sector and over 10 years in the NHS, where I have worked to reduce barriers to accessing health and social care services.

My work has focused on inclusive involvement, co-production and supporting people with lived experience to contribute meaningfully to service improvement and transformation.

I now use my skills to help organisations create clearer, more accessible information and create meaningful involvement opportunities.

Client-focused

Taking a person-centred approach, I will work closely with you to understand what you want to achieve, who you need to reach, and any barriers you want to overcome. I will help you choose the right approach to achieve your objective/s and keep you updated throughout the work, ensuring the final outcome is clear, useful and tailored to your audience.

Your voice matters

I will collect feedback during and after each project to confirm that everyone involved feels respected, heard and able to contribute. This information will inform my practice, ensuring it remains inclusive, respectful and meaningful.

“It's been so refreshing to work with someone who really understands the people we support - the respect you show to people with lived experience really shines through”
